Calcutta, or now Kolkata, will always be special after Dr. Bombay...
This is really a city with many faces, and just by walking a long one street you can find everything people sleeping, eating, cooking, begging, getting a hair cut and taking a bath or a leak. If you want to see typical India street things, spend 10 minutes on the streets of Kalkata and you have got a great summary of what it is all about.
Even if there is quite some chaos and a lot of poor people as well as dirty, the city still has some very nice areas to visit. Sometimes it feels like they decided to maintain some buildings at least and then be able to take a ride in the tram is a very nice way to see and transport oneself in the city.
And yes, I guess Dr Bombay was right, the city is full of taxi, taxi, taxi....

Esto es realmente una ciudad con muchas caras, y con sólo caminar una larga calle se puede encontrar a la gente todo lo que dormir, comer, cocinar, mendigar, recibiendo un corte de pelo y tomando un baño o pipi. Si quiere ver las cosas típicas de la calle de la India, pasan 10 minutos en las calles de Kalkata y usted tiene un gran resumen de lo que se trata.
Incluso si hay bastante caos y un montón de gente pobre, así como sucia, la ciudad todavía tiene algunas áreas muy agradable de visitar. A veces se siente como que decidió mantener algunos edificios por lo menos y luego ser capaz de dar un paseo en el tranvía es una manera muy agradable a ver la ciudad y el transporte en la ciudad.

and down it goes (high tech but not very fast)
the tram will take you to a better place
